War of Glory is impossible to play if the timers for Cooldowns aren't changed. I got hit 8 or 9 times by the same huge player in 3 minutes which made it impossible for me to do anything other than being a sitting duck inthere.

    http://prntscr.com/dddu7r

So i quit the event since i couldn't play it anyway but this is idiocy. It shouldn't be possible for anyone to hit the same player that fast again.

Next to that you can beat people that are still in a fight without them seeing you fight them which gives the one losing the fight an extra long cooldown. It just shows up when the exit their fight and an extra line saying who beat them. They have about 18 sec cooldown then which is another thing that disables lower ranked players or people getting hit like crazy to do a proper WoG since they can't do anything.

I run into this frequently, and like many others I go in, and just leave myself there and do something else checking on occasion to see if it's on the PVE boss. Prior to our server being merged into an older one there was at least some possibility of competition. Now it's just high players mauling lower players for points. During one battle while trying to actually play, I was hit 3 times while in that battle before I could skip my battle and exit. So the question is, how, if you're already in a battle, can someone hit me, yet, when I try to hit others I constantly see, "Player is already in battle"? That seems strange to say the least. Why are these other players hitting me not getting that same message? Or is it you can hit someone, and one person can hit you at the same time? How can 3 people hit me while I'm in battle by the time I am able to skip?

So, as I said before, I go in, and while I'm being pummeled by players 800K-1.5M BR higher than me, one hitting me, I just read a book, or check e-mails, etc until the PVE boss is up.

Due to the lack of being able to compete since the merge I find myself playing less and less, as have many of my guild mates who used to be on hours at a time, now they log in for less than an hour, do dailies and then go play other games, much as I have been doing. Additionally with all of the constant lag spikes, connection drops, bugs, etc I'm finding it more and more difficult to convince myself to continue playing a game such as this, especially one so bent on trying to separate my hard earned money for me while providing a problematic, unbalanced & mediocre game at best. And before someone jumps down my throat that all I'm doing is complaining and not providing any suggestions, I did, quite a few. I've been playing games like this for 30 years or so, starting back with BBS doors, MUDs, and other MMORPGs and browser games, several hundred over the years. I've been a moderator several times, GM more often and a game designer as well for 2 MUDs so I have a great deal of knowledge and experience on game mechanics, balance, and more.

So, my suggestion come from experience, as do my observations on the game. If any of the moderators would like some more specific suggestions, feel free to speak with me privately. The game could be much improved, and somewhat easily at that but some major issues would need to be addressed.

The devs should make it impossible to attack people that are already in battle! It makes no sense that it is possible at all that's like driving 2 cars at the same time.

We definitely have this in to devs, SheDevil. I agree it does not make sense for others to be able to attack you while you are in battle. All of us, players and mods alike, hope this will be fixed as soon as possible,

I also do not understand the logic behind the teams in WOG. The other day we had the top 5 br players in one team. More often we have the same issue

why can't we be redirected to a war of glory according to our level range
in Prison you cant attack someone below 10 levels than your level so why cant you do this to the other parts aka war of glory and loots.

level has very little to do with someone's strength on this game. BR is somewhat more representative. Here's an example there are 2 people I know, both are level 99. One has a BR of 520K, the other's BR is over 1Million. There are also 3 people I know of who are level 102, one is under 600K, one of the others is 820K, the 3rd is 1.5Mil. As you can see, BR range is dependent not on level, but how much cash someone has dropped on the game. Setting up these PVP events based on BR ranges will help to reduce many people's frustrations.

I agree Pvp events should be BR based and not level based otherwise we are all just wasting out time and you guys rather remove all Pvp as this is getting absolutely ridiculous. I find no fun hitting smaller players and I am n sure they don't find that fun too.

Hate to double post but here goes anyway

Making it based on BR is the best idea I have ever heard, and here is the reason.

The top player on our server has over 7.5mil BR, the next highest player is around 5.2mil. That would make the bracket at 2.5mil BR.

So now we would have 3 brackets, 0 - 2.5mil, 2.51mil - 5mil, then 5mil - 7.5mil.... Oh hang on, that would mean the top BR player doesn't have a bracket hmmmm.......

Would these brackets help anyone...no not really.

Oops also forgot to add the BR manipulation that would occur. Nice for the big hitters to drop 2 or 3 of their hero's thus reducing their BR, but still their main is so strong they still kill all in the lower BR bracket they are now placed in.

So please go ahead and suggest this idea, then when it happens you will get all the players that wanted it BR based asking why it isn't level based.

So let's see, level base....someone who doesn't drop cash on the game at level 105 gets to say 600K BR, player who is level 105 and drops some cash on the game is say around 1Mil BR, and someone who drops a ton of cash on the game is level 105 and 1.8Mil BR. So exactly how is it being based on level the best way either?

How's this for a resolution? You are put into a bracket based on your highest BR attained during the day of your last login. Which means zero possibility of BR manipulation, or just your highest BR period (which would require a single field to be added to players behind the scenes that gets updated via a simple function something like:

    UpdateBR

If CurrentBR <= to MAXBR then exit
If CurrentBR > MAXBR then MAXBR=CurrentBR

Pretty simple to code, because it would just go in the current function that handles your BR whenever you do something that would affect your BR, such as using transcards, upping equipment, upping heroes, changing formations, backups, etc. And it could be easily implemented during a maintenance. Why? Because once the database field is updated in a development server, a script could be ran that when the game is taken down for maintenance, the production db is merged into it, with a 0 being placed in the MAXBR field. When server comes back up, as soon as someone logs in, puts on transcards, or whatever else, MAXBR gets updated immediately. BR manipulation issue solved.

Read what I posted, think about it then suggest something.
Top player on my server is over 2 mil BR in front of 2nd player...so what bracket would you have him in??
BR manipulation would still happen, once people find out WHEN the BR ranking is attained, they will just strip/remove hero's and then only put them back when BR has been recorded.
As BR changes on a daily basis, manipulation would be possible until that changes.

I have seen this happen and there is no way a BR based system can work.

Player, a simple solution to that would be a temporary reduction in that person's BR to make them even with that 2nd player....and as I said, BR manipulation would not be possible, because the MAXBR remains as part of their account, no matter what they do. They can remove every hero they want and replace them with all level 1 heroes, it still won't matter, because they will be entering into BR based on MAXBR value, not CurrentBR value.

I've designed games or administered them for over 30 years. I know how to balance a game to make it the most balanced it can be. I've done it since the 1980s. There are several solutions to make things more fair and less frustrating to players, I've actually posted some of them in other threads. One of the many things I have seen over the last 30+ years is that games that use this model, of pay to win, with such a large discrepancy between what can be earned by those who don't spend money and those that do, is that there becomes a huge gap, it becomes completely frustrating for casual gamers, non cash players and they quit. Same goes with all these various server merges (all while the game continues to add new servers, which then get merged as well).

Honestly this happens when a company is more concerned with profit than making an enjoyable game for a broad range of players. Yes, by all means have a cash shop. However things like making certain items unavailable to those who don't drop loads of money, things that are an integral part of the game, and make these things unattainable ultimately cause more issues than it's worth and less profits in the long run.

Will there ever be a game that is completely balanced? No, but it can be very close without sacrifice of quality of the game or profit, or enjoyment of the game by all types of players.

Right now, BR is the best representation of a player's power. That means that events, X-Server, etc should ALL be based on BR, not level. Level is too arbitrary and is not representative of a player's power. I am level 100+ yet because I do not spend cash, at all, because of the ongoing issues with the game, the balance issues and more, my BR is around 600K. Another person, who is the exact same level as me, is 1.8M BR. Using level to decide who is in what bracket or whatever does not work.

Brackets can easily be done as follows:

    <250K BR
    250K-700K BR
    700K-1.5M BR
    1.5M BR - 2.5M BR
    2.5M BR-4M BR
    4M BR - 6M BR
    etc

Or, something a bit less simplistic would be to base people's entry by that, then average everyone's BR and temporarily make everyone's BR that number, in which case the person's attributes (gems, runes, etc) will end up deciding who wins the battle.

Example: in the 700K-1.5M BR bracket, 20 people join, the average BR is 1M, so everyone's BR becomes 1M while in the event. At that point the differences will be skill setup, equipment types/levels, gems, runes, sacred weapons, holy weapons, etc. So the person with the stronger set up will win, but no one will overly dominate the event nor will those who aren't as strong constantly get 1 hitted to death, get frustrated, etc.

Again, these things are not difficult to code and would go a long way to restoring balance to the game.

Now, regarding something else you said, namely for me to read what you wrote and think about it and come up with a suggestion. I did, one that works better than the current system. Unfortunately you did not seem to read my post, or understand the suggestion I made, based on your follow up post. I also haven't seen you come up with any suggestions either, just find fault with what others say.

You still haven't shown a BR bracket that would allow the top player to have ANY other opponents, maybe the biggest spender of them all would be happy to play a game with no opponents but I very much doubt it.
And do you really think averaging the BR of a bracket would be acceptable? I am sure someone with nearly 2mil more BR would be happy to dilute their character just so someone doesn't get beaten too often. Go ahead and ask the top players if they would be happy with your solutions to dilute their BR which they have spent so much on gaining!

The reason I haven't come up with a suggestion is frankly there isn't one.
The game is designed to take as much money as possible from players, not to be fair in any shape, way or form. That is the only system that works how it should in these types of games.
If you don't understand that after your 30+ years then you haven't played enough of these games.

To conclude, there is no solution to people being lower BR than others, or lower levels or just not built the same.
At it's core it is a combat game and as such there will always be weak and strong players, there will always be someone to win a fight and with that someone has to lose. It can never be anywhere near fair. You make it fair for some, it becomes unfair to others.

Player, actually I did. Perhaps you failed to see that, as well? Here they are:
    Quote:
Example: in the 700K-1.5M BR bracket, 20 people join, the average BR is 1M, so everyone's BR becomes 1M while in the event. At that point the differences will be skill setup, equipment types/levels, gems, runes, sacred weapons, holy weapons, etc

Player, a simple solution to that would be a temporary reduction in that person's BR to make them even with that 2nd player....

So, as you may be able to see, I answered that twice.

And by the way, what you've described is a player that doesn't want competition, just the ability to squash and dominate others. Someone who gets their rocks off by being a bully.

And player, that is not the only system that works, it's the only system that works when the game designers/company only cares about profit, not the players, not the game, just money. I have seen hundreds of games like this in 30 years, and EVERY one of the become ghost towns or die completely because people get fed up with the company's greed and leave. You know what games last? The ones that endure for years with huge player bases? The ones that provide good, quality entertainment a more balanced game, provide good customer service and not purely driven by profit. Games like DDO, WoW, Everquest, LOTR, and others. Games that use this model, which include most Facebook games and other browser games tend to fail, or as I said, become ghost towns.

And I'm sorry, but there are many solutions to the issues plaguing this game. The biggest would be to begin changing from a pure greed model trying to fleece the players from their hard earned money and focus more on providing a quality game, fixing bugs, responding to support tickets, put a stop to those who use the balen/gold generators, etc.

Oh and by the way, if someone has spent so much money that they're 2M BR higher than the closest person, then I guess they don't get to compete. Sorry to say this so bluntly, but you know what? Since the vast majority of players can't compete against people like that, the bullies who spend so much money so they can just 1 hit everyone, then maybe it's time for those people to learn what it's like to not be able to compete.

In every situation in life where 1 person acts like that, has the power to destroy others so easily, there are problems. Here are some real world examples of that kind of thinking: Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Castro, Pol Pot, Mao, Saddam Hussein, and many others. Every single one of them considered themselves better than others, crushed others under their heels for their own pleasure, etc.

Yes, this is a game, but you are under the impression it should only be enjoyable for the biggest players and that they're the only ones who count. You are mistaken. Your logic is flawed. Tell me, what do you think will happen when that 2M BR person continues to destroy everyone else, over and over and over? Players will quit. Once they quit, who will be left for that person to kill? Oh that's right, no one. And let's just say someone else decides to drop hundreds or thousands of dollars to try to catch that person, well that person will just spend more. The 2nd person will one day realize he/she was a total idiot and quit, or they'll catch that 1st person, who will cry that the 2nd person is beating them up and either quit or spend hundreds more.

The net result? The ONLY people who "win" are the greedy people, laughing at how stupid people are.... Did either player gain ANYTHING besides a boost to their ego, or do anything but show they're a bully? Nope.

    EPIC RANT THERE!

Totally pointless and comparing a player in a game to those people is a little bit insane in my book.
You do realize that you have just said that the game should be ran with a communist/socialist ethos at heart. That no person shall have what others do not!
That everyone that has more than the average should be classed as bully's and dealt with accordingly.

What you fail to totally grasp is that the game is running exactly as intended. It was never created to be fair and level for all players and as such the developer is getting exactly what they want.
So the issues that are plaguing this game as you put it, are in fact running exactly how it was intended.
You also failed to acknowledge that your idea of averaging BR though fair to a few people would actually seem UNFAIR to a hell of a lot more. So your idea is actually one of the unfairest ideas I have EVER seen proposed. Not to mention impossible to implement anyway due to the nature of how BR is made up.
